Hurley Reformed Church Missions

If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person? 1 John 3:17 (NLT)

Global Missions

Haiti Earthquake Relief:  We will be contributing money to the Haiti Earthquake Disaster through Church World Service which the Reformed Church in America supports.  Unlike other relief organizations Church World Service has very little overhead so money goes where it is designated.  We have used Church World Service in the past through the Health Kit Program and in the tsunami relief effort. Checks should be made out to the Hurley Reformed Church and earmarked “Haiti Earthquake”.

Local Missions

At Hurley Reformed Church it is our mission to serve Christ by reaching out to our local community.

One way we accomplish this is through our budgeted Deacon Fund and Monthly Mission collections.  Each month our congregation has the opportunity to make a special mission contribution which goes directly to a specific local charity or organization. Monthly missions are announced in the bulletin weekly. Through these contributions we have supported Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, Mid-Hudson Hospice, People’s Place, Family of Woodstock, Ulster County Dept of Social Services, Rural and Migrant Ministries and many others.

Hurley Reformed Church contributed approximately $7,000 to local charities and organizations in our community in 2008.

Together we can make a difference!
