Youth Group News

This group of kids ranging from 5th grade all the way up to 12th grade. We are a very exciting and active group.

The events that we do and take part in are:

  • We babysit children ranging in ages from 4 months old and up for church members and the community. We do this several times a year. This is a fund raiser for many different charities
     
  • Annual Penny Social
     
  • Annual Brooks BBQ which is an annual fund raiser for us to go to Camp Warwick
     
  • Annual car wash to raise money for the American Cancer Society
     
  • Baking and selling breads to sell to church members at Thanksgiving time
     
  • Baking cookie for the Women’s Guild cookie walk
     
  • Christmas caroling to homes in the community
     
  • Collecting food and/or supplies for the area shelters and/or charity on a monthly bases
     
  • Collect and purchase food for 4 families for their Thanksgiving dinner
     
  • Collecting mittens, hats, and scarves for area schools and/or local shelter
     
  • Conduct our Easter Dawn Service and right after the service is a breakfast that we do all of the cooking, set up/clean up, and serving.
     
  • Help in whatever area at our annual Stone House Day
     
  • Make chili for our annual Souper Bowl collection for a local soup kitchen
     
  • “Santa” to 4 families for Christmas
     
  • Selling of hot dogs and baked good items to raise money for a local charity
     
  • Serve at the church’s annual Turkey Dinner
     
  • Serve at the Women’s Guild annual Spaghetti Dinner
     
  • Set up and put out the church’s luminaries on Main Street of Hurley for Christmas Eve
     
  • Sponsor several coffee hours a year at church
     
  • We sell calendars and note cards annually to raise money
     
  • Other activities that we do would do are snow tubing, ice skating, sleepover at the NYS Museum, sleepover at the CT Aquarium

As you can see, we are an active group. No grass grows under our feet. The kids are excited about our activities. They even have suggested come of them. Kids have joined us that don’t come to our church on a regular base. Come and check us out.
